Foundation

The Los Pen Academy Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to provide additional learning and life skills to elementary aged students within the Poway Unified School District and surrounding areas, who face economic, social, emotional and physical challenges in the home, regardless of race, gender, religion or other factors to enable them to rise above their current situations to set and achieve their goals. We do this by providing them a safe and nurturing venue in which to learn and achieve higher academic success than they would otherwise, while teaching the leadership, emotional strength and self confidence skills that will carry them through a life time.

The Los Pen Academy Foundation supports these efforts through the Los Pen Academy No Excuses University and funds activities that enhance and support that environment, such as fieldtrips, cell phones for teachers so that students may call their teachers for help with homework , hands-on project learning, additional instruction in Language, Math and Science, as well as family and individual support.

LPA Board Meetings (Open to all families and the public.  Meeting are held in Room 26 at 7.00 pm on second Thursday of the month.)

Message to new families from Foundation President:

Welcome to the Academy program at Los Penasquitos Elementary!

The Los Pen Academy Foundation (LPAF) Board is very excited to have you join our program.  As new Academy families you are also a member of LPAF.  This membership is an easy one as there are no dues to pay and no required participation.

The purpose and mission of the Los Pen Academy Foundation is to financially support the academic goals of the Los Penasquitos Academy.  As was stated at the information night you attended, the Academy is free for all to attend.  You will never be asked for tuition money or fees of any kind.  The program costs additional money to operate and does not pay for itself.  This is why the Foundation was created, to help with the financial burden of keeping the Academy operating.

The Foundation has a Board that meets monthly, currently 7:00 pm on the second Thursday of the month.  We actively seek grants and private donations and organize fundraisers for the community and our families.  All participation is completely voluntary and up to each family how they choose to participate.

If you are interested in getting involved or have any questions please contact us at lospenacademyfoundation@gmail.com.

Again, welcome to the Academy family!
